Copyright and IP Notice / Takedown Policy

Last updated: October 2026

1. Purpose

1.1 BridgeX respects intellectual property rights and requires Users and Service Providers to upload only material they own or are authorised to use. This Policy explains how a copyright owner may request removal or disabling of allegedly infringing material and how an affected subscriber may respond.

2. Designated Contact

Copyright notices and counter-notices should be sent to: info@bridgexng.com.. The subject line should state: “Copyright Takedown Notice” or “Copyright Counter-Notice”, as applicable.

3. Copyright Takedown Notice Requirements

3.1 A copyright owner or authorised representative may send BridgeX a written notice requesting removal or disabling of infringing Content or a link to that Content. To enable BridgeX to process the notice, it should include the information required by section 54 of the Copyright Act 2022: a) b) c) d) e) f)

a physical or electronic signature of the person authorised to act for the copyright owner; identification of each copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed; identification and location of the allegedly infringing material or activity with enough information for BridgeX to locate it; contact information for the complaining party, including an email address, telephone number or address; a declaration on oath that the complainant believes the complained-of use is not authorised by the copyright owner, the owner’s agent or the law; and a statement that the information supplied is accurate and that the complainant is authorised to act for the copyright owner.

3.2 A notice that omits material statutory information may be returned for completion. BridgeX may still take urgent action where independently required by law or platform safety rules.

4. Action on a Valid Notice

a) Upon receiving a notice that satisfies the statutory requirements, BridgeX will promptly notify the subscriber responsible for the relevant Content and will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the infringing Content or link, then notify the copyright owner in accordance with section 55 of the Copyright Act 2022.

b) BridgeX may preserve a copy of removed Content and related records where reasonably necessary for legal compliance, evidence, dispute resolution, fraud prevention or the statutory process, even though the Content is no longer publicly accessible.

5. Counter-Notice and Restoration

a) A subscriber who believes Content was removed because of mistake, misidentification, licence, permission or another lawful basis may send a signed written counter-notice explaining the basis and providing sufficient contact and Content details for BridgeX and the complaining copyright owner to assess the claim.

b) BridgeX will forward a valid counter-notice to the copyright owner promptly. Subject to the Copyright Act 2022, BridgeX may restore or resume access to the Content if the statutory conditions for restoration are satisfied, including where the copyright owner does not provide the response required by section 55 within seven days after the counter-notice is forwarded. c) Restoration does not prevent either party from pursuing rights before the Nigerian Copyright Commission or a court.

6. Stay-Down and Re-uploaded Content

BridgeX will take reasonable steps, consistent with the Copyright Act and appropriate industry standards, to prevent Content validly removed under the statutory process from being reloaded. Where BridgeX becomes aware that removed infringing Content has been reloaded, it may disable access promptly without requiring a duplicate notice, subject to applicable law.

7. Repeat Infringers

a) BridgeX applies the repeat-infringer procedure in section 56 of the Copyright Act 2022. Where repeated qualifying notifications relate to an account, BridgeX may issue the statutory warning. Where the conditions in section 56 are met after a further notification and no challenge is pending, BridgeX will suspend the account for the period required by law, which is not less than one month. b) A subscriber may challenge a repeat-infringer warning on the statutory grounds of mistake or misidentification and within the applicable statutory period. BridgeX may refer unresolved challenges to the Nigerian Copyright Commission as required by the Act.

8. Misrepresentation

A person must not knowingly misrepresent that material is infringing or that material was removed by mistake or misidentification. BridgeX may preserve and disclose relevant records where lawfully required in connection with such a claim.

9. Good Faith Platform Action

BridgeX will apply this Policy in good faith and does not determine final ownership of disputed intellectual property merely by processing a notice. Parties remain responsible for their underlying rights and may seek determination by the Nigerian Copyright Commission or a court of competent jurisdiction.
