Cancellation and Refund Policy

Last updated: October 2026

CONSUMER RIGHTS PRESERVED

BridgeX does not operate a blanket “no refund” policy.

Cancellation charges, where applicable, must be disclosed, reasonable and consistent with Nigerian consumer law. Where a Provider Service is not supplied, materially misdescribed or defective, statutory rights and remedies remain available notwithstanding any booking-specific rule.

1. Scope

a) This Policy applies to Bookings arranged through BridgeX. It explains how User cancellations, Provider cancellations, no-shows, refunds, BridgeX Fees, payment reversals and chargebacks are handled. b) The underlying Provider Service is ordinarily supplied by the Service Provider. BridgeX may facilitate payment and refund administration without becoming the supplier of that Provider Service.

2. General Principles

a)

b) c)

d)

the cancellation rule applicable to a Booking should be disclosed before the User confirms the Booking; a cancellation charge must be reasonable in the circumstances and should reflect legitimate costs, reserved capacity or loss reasonably attributable to the cancellation; a Service Provider must not impose a term that unlawfully removes statutory consumer rights; where BridgeX has separately charged a Platform Fee, the treatment of that fee must be disclosed; and

e)

refunds should ordinarily be returned to the original payment method unless law, fraud prevention or the payment processor requires another method.

3. User Cancellation Before Provider Acceptance

Where the User cancels before a Service Provider accepts the Booking and before any nonrecoverable third-party cost has been incurred, the Provider Service amount should ordinarily be fully refundable and no Provider cancellation charge should apply.

4. User Cancellation After Acceptance but Before Service Starts

a) A User may cancel an advance Booking. A reasonable cancellation charge may apply where it was disclosed before confirmation and is justified by the timing, reserved capacity, materials or other reasonable loss. b) The applicable booking screen should state the specific cancellation window and charge.

c) A cancellation charge should not exceed what is reasonable in the circumstances and should not operate as a disguised penalty or blanket forfeiture.

5. Cancellation After Work Has Started

If the User cancels after performance has begun, the Provider shall be entitled to reasonable payment for work properly performed, authorised materials reasonably committed and other lawful charges, subject to the User’s rights where the cancellation results from the Provider’s breach, unsafe conduct, misrepresentation or defective service.

6. Provider Cancellation or No Show

a) If the Service Provider cancels without lawful justification or fails to attend or commence the service as agreed, the User shall receive a refund of amounts paid for the unperformed Provider Service.

b) BridgeX may also assist the User to locate an alternative Service Provider. The User is not required to accept a replacement instead of a refund where the law entitles the User to a refund.

7. User No Show or Inaccessibility

If a Provider attends at the agreed time and location but cannot perform because the User is absent, refuses reasonable access or materially failed to provide necessary information, a disclosed no-show or cancellation charge may apply to the extent reasonable and lawful.

8. Non-Performance, Misdescription or Defective Service

a) Nothing in this Policy shall limits the rights and remedies available under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 or other applicable law where a service is not supplied, is materially misdescribed, is performed without reasonable care and skill, or otherwise fails applicable legal standards.

b) Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, the appropriate remedy may include re-performance, price reduction, refund, compensation or another remedy. BridgeX may facilitate the remedy but the Service Provider remains responsible for remedies arising from the Provider Service except to the extent BridgeX is separately legally responsible.

9. Changes in Scope or Price

If the Provider materially changes the scope or price after Booking, the User must be informed and must agree before additional work is performed. If the User does not agree, cancellation consequences should be assessed according to who caused the change and the work already properly performed.

10. Force Majeure and Safety Cancellation

a) Where a Booking cannot proceed because of a genuine event outside the reasonable control of both parties, the parties should first consider rescheduling. If rescheduling is not reasonable, BridgeX will determine the payment treatment consistently with applicable law, costs already irreversibly incurred and fairness to both parties. b) A User or Provider may cancel without penalty where continuing the Booking would reasonably create an immediate safety risk caused by the other party, subject to evidence and investigation.

11. Refund Method and Timing

a) Approved refunds will ordinarily be initiated to the original payment method within [5 BUSINESS DAYS] after approval. The time at which funds become available is controlled by the bank, card scheme or payment processor and may take additional business days.

b) BridgeX will provide a transaction reference or other confirmation where available. If a refund is delayed after BridgeX has initiated it, the User should first allow the applicable payment-processor settlement period before escalation.

12. Cash and Off-Platform Payments

BridgeX cannot process a refund through its payment systems for money paid directly to a Service Provider outside the Platform. BridgeX may still assist with a complaint, but recovery may depend on the Provider’s cooperation or the User’s legal remedies.

13. Duplicate Payments and Processing Errors

A duplicate debit or clear processing error should be reported promptly with the transaction reference. BridgeX will coordinate with the payment processor and refund any amount shown

to have been incorrectly collected, subject to reconciliation and fraud checks.

14. Chargebacks

a) A User should first use the BridgeX complaint route where reasonably practicable before initiating a chargeback, so that the transaction can be investigated. This does not remove any cardholder right available under payment scheme rules or law.

b) Fraudulent, abusive or duplicate chargebacks may result in account restrictions and recovery of amounts properly due, subject to fair investigation.

15. How to Request a Cancellation or Refund

Use the cancellation control in the Booking screen where available, or contact info@bridgexng.com.. Include the Booking reference, reason, requested remedy and relevant evidence. BridgeX will issue or retain a complaint / refund ticket for tracking.
