Our Privacy Notice and Terms Just Got a Major Upgrade
The old Privacy Policy and Terms are replaced by a six-document legal framework. Here is what changed, document by document.
Why we rewrote them
Our launch-era Privacy Policy and Terms of Service were written before provider verification, lead pricing, and in-app payments existed. They said almost nothing about how identity checks work, what providers agree to, or when refunds apply. That gap is now closed: the old documents are replaced by a six-document legal framework.
What changed
1. Platform Terms of Use
A full 23-section rewrite that states the marketplace model plainly: BridgeX is the technology intermediary, not the service supplier. It covers what the verified badge does and does not mean, how quotes and bookings form contracts, fee disclosure before payment, and a complaints-first path to resolution.
2. Service Provider Terms and Conditions
Providers previously signed the same generic terms as customers. They now have their own agreement: independent-contractor status, onboarding and reverification duties, professional standards, price transparency, payouts, and a dispute ladder from senior review to mediation to arbitration.
3. Privacy Notice
Rebuilt around the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023: named data sources, purpose-by-purpose lawful bases, KYC and biometric safeguards, vendor transparency, cross-border transfer rules, 72-hour breach notification, and a separate marketing-consent regime that is never pre-ticked.
4. Provider Verification and KYC Policy
For the first time, exactly what each verification badge checks is written down in one place — and what it does not promise.
5. Cancellation and Refund Policy
No blanket no-refunds rule. Reasonable disclosed cancellation charges stand, but statutory rights for non-performance and defective service are preserved.
6. Copyright and IP Notice / Takedown Policy
A proper notice-and-takedown path for copyright and brand complaints, with review and appeal.
What you need to do
Nothing right now — but the next time you open the app or check out, you will be asked to accept the new documents. All six live under Support, Legal in the app and in the website footer. Questions: info@bridgexng.com.
